ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Baseball fans were gifted an awesome insight into the on-field sounds of Thursday's game between the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers. Cardinals CF Harrison Bader and Brewers 2B Kolten Wong were wearing microphones for the YouTube broadcast and we finally get to hear some extended highlights of what they had to say during the game.
It captured Bader communicating with his fellow outfielders, joking with catcher Yadier Molina on the bench and talking hitting with his teammates.
But the best moment comes from Wong at the 1:49 mark in the video (which you can watch at the top of this page). It's when new Cardinals 3B Nolan Arenado is on second base and Wong approaches him. Here's what they said to each other – with a few words bleeped out:
Wong: How are you liking St. Louis so far?
Arenado: I love it.
Wong: Dude, they are going to f****** love you there bro.
Arenado: Yeah, it's awesome.
Wong: Sad I left, but bro you're gonna f****** love it.
Wong had a very special moment in his return to Busch Stadium for the home opener this year. He led off the game for Milwaukee and was given a huge ovation from fans that brought him to tears. He played eight years for St. Louis, winning back-to-back Gold Gloves the past two seasons with them.
He's far from the first person to tell Arenado how much the fans in St. Louis are doing to adore him for years to come. And he won't be the last.
