ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Two men from north St. Louis County have been charged for a shooting incident that left a 4- and 9-year-old with gunshot wounds on Monday. Witness say it was a drive-by shooting.
Ronald Jones, 25, of the 2500 block of Shirley Ave., and Rolandis Lindsey, 19 of the 200 block of N. Florissant, have both been charged with three counts of 1st-degree assault and armed criminal action. A 41-year-old man was also grazed by a bullet, police say.
The shooting happened just after noon in the 5200 block of Alabama Avenue. Neighborhood witness says a gold Ford 500 pulled in front of a home and opened fire at some people. They say shots were fired back at the car as it sped off.
Police say the adult victim walked out his front door and was immediately confronted by the suspect who began firing at him. They continued to fire as he ran back into his home and where the children were struck, police say.
The children were seen being carried to an ambulance and were conscious and breathing. No further update was given on the victims' conditions.
Jones and Lindsey were arrested Tuesday in the 4500 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. and two firearms were recovered, police say.
