Driver held up at knifepoint, suspect jumped into his car while stopped at stoplight in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Police in St. Louis are investigating after a man was robbed at knifepoint and temporarily kidnapped while stopped at a red light in the middle of the night.

Police say the incident happened at the intersection of Hall Street and Thatcher Avenue in north St. Louis, early Thursday morning. Around 12:35 a.m. the victim was stopped at the intersection when the suspect wielding a knife approached his window.

The suspect threatened that he also had a gun and entered the victim’s vehicle, ordering him to drive. As the victim turned, he struck a parked vehicle which disabled his vehicle.

The suspect then removed money from the victim’s pockets and ran away.

Police say the victim was not injured.
