
WEBSTER GROVES (KMOX) - A person who broke into a home in Webster Groves was shot and killed by the homeowner, police say.
According to multiple reports, the incident happened around 3 a.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Grant Road. The homeowner shot the burglar with a shotgun and the burglar died at the hospital, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Webster Groves police say the burglar entered through the home's back door and when confronted by the homeowner, refused to leave.
Police didn't arrest the homeowner. The names of the homeowner or deceased burglar haven't been released.
Under Missouri's "castle doctrine," the killing may be considered justified.
