WENTZVILLE, Mo. (KMOX) -- The Francis Howell School District sent an email to parents this week saying a black bear was spotted around Daniel Boone Elementary School in recent days.

On Sunday night, a black bear was photographed up a tree in Pacific, Missouri. The bear then ran off.

The Missouri Department of Conservation says the bear is different from another black bear that was photographed in a different tree in Pacific a week ago.

There are no reports of any conflict with humans but the Missouri Department of Conservation warns residents to avoid any and all contact with bears. It says don't ever feed them or leave out garbage that might attract them.
