Off-duty St. Louis cop rushed to hospital with 'medical emergency'

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - There's a large police presence outside Barnes-Jewish Hospital after an officer was rushed there due to what authorities are calling a "medical emergency."

A female officer is listed in critical but stable condition as of Wednesday afternoon. They say it's not gun-related but did not release any further details.

She was not on duty.

Police are asking for "thoughts & prayers as she recovers."

Our Kevin Killeen is at the hospital and says high-ranking officials are there, including St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden.
