They say idol hands are the devil’s workshop. In accordance, LeBron James seems to be going through a midlife crisis of sorts, tweeting about potentially starting a podcast and now openly flirting with another team. Stir-crazy after missing the playoffs for only the fourth time in his NBA career, the legendary forward has decided to fill the void by getting aggregated, this time by professing his love for the Golden State Warriors on an upcoming episode of The Shop, a talk show hosted by James and longtime collaborator, Maverick Carter. The episode, which premieres June 10th on YouTube, also features CNN anchor Don Lemon, rapper Fat Joe and comedian Amy Schumer, who James co-starred with in Trainwreck.
“It’s got to be Golden State,” said James, responding to a question posed by Carter, who asked LeBron which of the teams remaining in the NBA playoffs he’d most like to play for. “I would love to get into a pissing match with Draymond [Green]. I love when somebody cusses me out.”

Despite an altercation during the 2016 NBA Finals when Green kicked James in the groin, resulting in a one-game suspension, Draymond and James have maintained a close relationship, sharing an agent (Rich Paul) while also partnering as early investors in Lobos Tequila. This isn’t the first time James has been linked to Golden State, previously expressing interest in someday playing with Steph Curry.
Even with the Lakers going through a rebuild of sorts (former Bucks assistant Darvin Ham was introduced as their new head coach earlier this week), James seems unlikely to leave Los Angeles, his de facto business headquarters with most of his off-court ventures including Klutch Sports Group and his production company SpringHill located there. But if the 37-year-old were to play elsewhere, getting the gang together for one last job before hanging up his Nikes as the greatest player of his generation, the Warriors appear to be No. 1 on James’ wish list.
