A former sergeant with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department was arrested for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography, according to the Fontana Police Department.

Marc Goodwin, 43, was arrested by police Thursday after receiving an alert from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, indicating Goodwin had allegedly electronically transmitted an image containing possible child pornography.

Police said the subsequent investigation determined Goodwin allegedly possessed and transmitted multiple images containing child pornography. Goodwin allegedly transmitted the pornographic images utilizing the email address of loweredforlife@yahoo.com.

Police seized multiple electronic devices and will be examining them in the coming weeks.

The San Bernardino Sun reported that Goodwin no longer works for the Sheriff’s Department.

The Sun reported that Goodwin was booked on suspicion of possessing child pornography, possession of obscene material portraying sexual sadism involving someone under 18, and distributing child pornography.

Fontana police said Goodwin is being held without bail.

Anyone having received pornographic images under this email address or in possession of further information is encouraged to contact Detective Brad Guith at bguith@fontana.org.
