The truck drove up onto the sidewalk and struck three people — including a man who was reportedly pinned between the vehicle and a building, police said.

Two unidentified people suffered minor injuries from the collision. A 57-year-old man, described as a food vendor, died at the scene.

Following the collision, the driver allegedly exited the truck and fled on foot. A bystander who witnessed the crash saw the suspect and alerted police to his location, where he was eventually arrested.

The suspect, whose name has been withheld, was described as being 37 years old.
