Officers found the wounded boy and he was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated and released, according to Sgt. Iain Miller.

Officers learned an SUV had driven up to the boy’s location and someone inside shot him, Miller said.

Officers searched the area for the SUV and spotted a possible suspect vehicle. Officers then conducted a traffic stop on the SUV in the 1100 block of South Towne Avenue and detained four suspects.

Miller said the suspects were found to be involved in the shooting. Police arrested Pomona residents 22-year-old Juan Jesus Torres, 22-year-old Danny Francisco Barquero, 19-year-old Rizkalla Hennessey, and a 16-year-old juvenile from Riverside.

All four were booked into the Pomona City Jail and each charged with attempted murder, Miller said.
