
A six-hour pursuit that spanned from Ventura to Los Angeles County where one suspect stole three vehicles, finally concluded around 2 p.m. as police barricaded the suspect's car, forcing him to surrender in Thousand Oaks.
The driver of a stolen white Dodge Caravan drove recklessly and at high speeds along freeways and surface streets.
SkyCal caught up with the pursuit around 1 p.m. over the 118 Freeway. It's reported that the Los Angeles Police Department paused its pursuit mode after the suspect crashed with an LAPD cruiser in Toluca Lake injuring two officers, but picked up the pursuit a bit later as the suspect drove recklessly along the freeway.
Around 1:25 p.m., the van exited the freeway in the Northridge area at Rinaldi Street and continued at high speeds.
A spike strip was thrown on the road by police at Devonshire and Melvin Avenue.
After the van's tires were blown from the spike strip, the suspect jumped out of the van and ran into a Chevron gas station at Tampa Avenue and Rinaldi Street.
He jumped into another car, a white BMW sedan, and continued the pursuit in Canoga Park on surface streets at high speeds, up to 80 mph.
The driver pulled into a second gas station for a minute at Shoup Avenue and Clarendon Street, and continued driving the white BMW out of the gas station.
Around 1:50 p.m., the suspect entered a third gas station at Ventura Boulevard. and Del Valle Street in Woodland Hills and stole a white van, making that the third vehicle driven by the one suspect.
The driver made his way back onto the 101 Freeway around Agora Hills at 1:58 p.m., and was speeding toward Ventura County
The pursuit ended around 2 p.m. when police barricaded the suspect's van in Thousand Oaks on South Moorpark Road, at the 101 Freeway onramp.
The suspect got out of the van, took off his jacket, and sprawled out onto the blacktop, surrendering to police.
