SAN FRANCISCO (KNX) – A Southern California couple is searching for their beloved cat, Minnelusa, after the cat was taken from their car during a trip to San Francisco.
Cesar Granados and Karla Cardoso, both from Anaheim, were vacationing in the city last week with their cat. The couple told the San Francisco Chronicle that their beloved one-year-old cat loved traveling.
“She’s our travel companion,” Granados told the newspaper. “The car was her favorite place because she could have 100% attention from both of us together. She preferred the car (over) the house.”
In the evening hours of Dec. 20, the couple parked in a city garage in Cow Hollow, leaving the cat in her carrier in the back seat. Granados told the newspaper they’d put a blanket over her carrier to keep her hidden.
When the couple returned, they found their car window had been smashed open and their cat was gone.

The couple filed a police report and put out “missing” flyers around the city in hopes of finding their beloved cat. They told the news outlet they even went to shelters to see if their cat was brought in there.
The cat was wearing a green sweater along with a harness. She is not microchipped. The couple is offering a cash reward for Minnelusa’s return and can be contacted at 310-997-7497 or cesar1.granados@gmail.com.
