
LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Over the weekend, numerous people were arrested and cited in relation to street racing activities in the San Fernando Valley, the California Highway Patrol’s West Valley division said.
Officers with the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police Department responded to a vast amount of 911 calls in regards to street racing activities, according to a Facebook post by the West Valley division.
Authorities said that over the course of the weekend, seven people were arrested, 54 citations were issued, 10 cars were impounded, and 20 cars were inspected.
“The arrests were made for speed contest (racing), DUI, illegal possession of a firearm and impersonating law enforcement. Many of the citations were for excessive speed over 100MPH,” CHP West Valley wrote.
