Culver City police arrest man for punching elderly woman

CULVER CITY, Calif. (KNX) – A man was arrested Saturday for punching an elderly woman in Culver City.

Culver City Police said around 9:45 a.m., officers responded to a reported assault at Jefferson Boulevard and Raintree Circle. It was there officers learned a 72-year-old woman was walking home when a man punched her in the face, causing her to be knocked back on the ground and hit her head on the pavement.

The Culver City Fire Department rushed to help the woman, who was taken to a hospital where she was said to have a concussion.

Bystanders who saw what happened identified the man to police, who arrested the suspect and booked him for aggravated assault, police said.

His identity has not been released at this time.
