LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Law enforcement officials have connected a man wanted for walking out of a Chino Hills, Calif. Costco with stolen merchandise to more than 20 retail thefts across Southern California.
Vessi Diaz was arrested Thursday in Downey, Calif., two days after Costco Loss Prevention reported seeing him walk into the Peyton Drive store, pick up two Sonos brand speakers and leave without paying $950 for them, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Since his arrest, deputies said they have connected the 27-year-old Bell Gardens, Calif. resident to more than 20 other retail thefts across the region. However, they did not say at which stores those thefts happened.
Diaz was charged with grand theft and booked in the West Valley Detention Center on Thursday. He remains there on $25,000 bail and is expected to appear in court on Monday, according to San Bernardino County Court records.
Anyone with information regarding Diaz is asked to contact Detective Ryan Girard of the Chino Hills Station (909) 364-2000.
