
LONG BEACH, Calif. (KNX) — The driver involved in a hit-and-run collision with a 3-year-old child and her father on Tuesday remains at large, according to Long Beach police.
Police responded to the 6600 block of Rose Avenue, near Artesia Boulevard and Cherry Avenue, at 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday to a report of a hit-and-run collision in which the driver of a Dodge Ram truck slammed into the side of an apartment building, hitting and killing a 42-year-old man and his three-year-old daughter.

The father died at the scene. His dauther was transported to a nearby hospital, where she later died of her injuries.
"The preliminary investigation revealed a 2014 Dodge Ram was traveling northbound on Rose Avenue at a high rate of speed," police said. "The vehicle left the roadway and collided with an apartment building, killing two of the occupants inside."
Surveillance footage showed the truck hitting the apartment complex on Rose Avenue.
Police said the driver fled the scene on foot, leaving the truck to be impounded.
The driver, who remains on the run, is believed to be about 20 to 25 years of age.
