El Segundo lost to Needville 3-1 on Monday, forcing them to win three consecutive games to avoid elimination, but as Gundo coach Danny Boehle told KNX News, if it wasn't for one error, "That game is a lot closer than, 3 to 1, and, I think we actually pull it out."
This time around, with everyone healthy, Boehle says the team is confident going into the redemption game and, "We're just gonna play hard and battle like we always do."

Some of that confidence is partly due to the return of Gundo's star player Louis Lappe, who Boehle says is undefeated this year and one of the "most feared" kids on the field.
Boehle is hyping his team up with inspirational movies and quotes as they get a well-deserved rest day before Saturday's championship showdown.
He believes that as long as they play for one another and have fun, they'll do El Segundo and the whole state of California proud.
The winner of the U.S. championship will face the international champions - to be decided between the Caribbean region team from Willemstad, Curaçao, and the Asia-Pacific region team from Taoyuan, Chinese Taipei.
