
Jo Lasorda, the widow of famed Los Angeles Dodgers manager Tommy Lasorda, has died at the age of 91.
The Dodgers shared the news early Tuesday and said Lasorda died in her Fullerton home at 8:59 p.m. on Monday.
“The Los Angeles Dodgers family were saddened to learn of the passing of Jo Lasorda, widow of Dodgers’ Hall of Famer Tommy Lasorda,” the team said in a tweet. “We send our deepest condolences to the Lasorda family at this time.”
Lasorda’s death comes eight months after the passing of her husband, who died at 93 years old on Jan. 5.
Tommy, a Baseball Hall of Fame manager spent seven decades of his life in the Dodgers organization and “became one of the most memorable personalities in baseball history,” the Dodgers said in a memorial post after his death.
He had been hospitalized in the intensive care unit since mid-November 2020 with an illness, but had been released and was resting at home when he died.
The Lasordas were married on April 14, 1950 and shared more than 70 years of life together. They are survived by their daughter Laura and granddaughter Emily Tess.
