LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Trial for the man charged with killing rapper Nipsey Hussle in 2019 is set to begin next month.

The trial for Eric Holder Jr., 32, will start June 2.
In May 2019, Holder Jr. was indicted on one count each of murder and possession of a firearms by a felon, as well as two counts each of attempted murder and assault with a fire arm.
On Mar. 31, 2019, the Grammy-nominated rapper, whose real name was Ermias Asghedom, was shot and killed outside his store, the Marathon Clothing, in South L.A. He was 33 years-old.
Holder was arrested on April 2, 2019. He’s been in jail since.
The prosecutor told the grand jury that prior to the shooting, Holder approached Hussle and the two had a discussion, in which Hussle accused Holder of snitching.
"Apparently the conversation had something to do with Mr. Asghedom telling Mr. Holder that word on the street was that Mr. Holder was snitching. The conversation wasn't particularly intense, it wasn't particularly belligerent, and it lasted for about four minutes," the prosecutor said.
It was after that conversation that Deputy District Attorney John McKinney said Holder used two guns to fire multiple shots at the rapper, according to City News Service. Two other men were also injured.
The trial is expected to go on four weeks.
