LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Kanye West is making plans to head to Russia later this year to meet with President Vladimir Putin and expand his business operations into the country, according to a report from Billboard.

West, who now goes by the legal name “Ye,” has plans to make Russia his “second home” while buddying up to Azerbaijani-Russian billionaire real estate developer Aras Agalarov and his son Emin Agalarov, who is a fellow artist, West’s strategic advisor Ameer Sudan told the outlet.

Aras Agalarov is a close associate of Putin and one of the country’s leading developers, according to Billboard. He is sometimes referred to as the “Trump of Russia” in reference to the way he brands his buildings.

West is reportedly working on new business deals with the Agalarov family, with Sudan predicting the projects would increase West’s wealth to more than $10 billion. Bloomberg reported the artist and business mogul was worth $6.6 billion in 2021.

West is shooting for spring or summer to make his first trip to Russia and has plans of collaborating musically with Emin Agalarov, according to Sudan.

West also will be performing his “Sunday Service” shows in Russia, a first in his 25-year career, and plans to invite Putin to attend the gospel performance as a special guest, according to Sudan.
