Nurse Tricia Nash is with her patients through it all. She tells KNX report Heather Jordan, "I'm smiling with you...you're crying, I'll cry with you. I'm there. Right there, wherever you're at. That's where I'm at."
Tricia has been a nurse in southern California for over 30 years, and she has dedicated her career to helping seniors in honor of her grandmother.
About a year ago, Tricia began working as the activities director in the memory care unit out of Sherman Oaks, going above and beyond to improve the quality of life for older dementia patients.
"If they like physical things, we do exercise, we do yoga...whatever meaningful, fun things they like to do," Tricia says.
It's not an easy job, and our own KNX traffic anchor, Jennifer York knows just how special Tricia is firsthand because she cares for Jen's mother.
Jennifer says, "[Tricia] is giving it her whole 1000%. This woman has made such an impact. Every single day, she's positive, and when I can't be there, I can count on my mom having a good day because of Tricia."
Nurse Tricia Nash of Van Nuys is our KNX Hero of The Week!
