LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A South Bay man accused of a string of bank robberies throughout Southern California was arrested on Sunday.
Christopher Paul Daniels, 55, of Torrance, was arrested in Palos Verdes Estates. He was believed to be responsible for at least 12 robberies and attempted robberies in Orange and L.A. counties since October of last year.

The suspect in these cases wore a green camouflage gaiter covering part of his face, leading law enforcement to coin a nickname — the “Green Gaiter Bandit.”
Daniels was arrested over the weekend while driving a white Toyota Yaris, the same make and model of vehicle seen at some of the robberies he’s been implicated in.
The suspect appeared in federal court on Monday after being charged with robbing or attempting to rob four banks: U.S. Bank in Mission Viejo on Jan. 7; Wells Fargo Bank in Placentia on Jan. 21; Chase Bank in Fullerton on Jan. 21; and Bank of the West in Fullerton on Jan. 27. The criminal complaint filed against him alleged he was a suspect in eight other robberies.
As of Wednesday, Daniels was being held in federal custody without bond.
