LOS ANGELES (KNX) — At-home COVID-19 testing kits are now available to Los Angeles County residents for free, by mail in a new Home Test Collection Program announced by health officials Monday.
The L.A. County Home Test Collection Program offers nasal swab test kits from Picture Genetics to all “county residents who have COVID-19 symptoms or think they were exposed,” according to the L.A. Department of Public Health.
To sign up, residents must answer a few questions about whether they have symptoms or believe they have been exposed and must be willing to take the test and ship back the sample within three to five days of receiving the test kit.
Tests will arrive two days after being ordered, health officials said, and can only be delivered to home and apartments, no P.O. boxes. Those requesting must also have an email address.
