LAPD investigates four flash mob robberies near Hyde Park neighborhood

LOS ANGELES (KNX) — The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating four separate flash mob incidents near L.A.’s Hyde Park neighborhood between Nov. 22 and Dec. 8.

The group of suspects are linked to robberies at two businesses on South Vermont Avenue, one on West Slauson Avenue and another on Manchester Avenue, LAPD said in a statement.

“The suspects took merchandise without paying and ran out of the businesses.” LAPD said.

“In one of the incidents, the suspects pushed a pregnant employee to the ground, which elevated the incident to a robbery.”

So far, officers and detectives in LAPD’s 77th Street Division have been able to make two arrests for robbery and four arrests for burglary. All are under 21 years old.

Maricio Ulloa, 19, was arrested on burglary charges and Angel Torres, 21,  was arrested on robbery charges. Four additional suspects under 18 years old were also arrested, police said.
