MALIBU, Calif. (KNX) — Malibu City Hall will be closed for in-person services for much of January in response to the rise in COVID-19 cases throughout Los Angeles County.
The temporary closure went into effect Wednesday and will continue through Jan. 28, according to a news release.

“The temporary closure is out of an abundance of caution to help slow the spread of COVID-19 amidst the current surge so that we can protect the health and safety of the community, especially seniors and other high-risk groups, and to allow City staff to continue to safely provide essential City services,” said Mayor Paul Grisanti in a statement.
City Hall may reopen earlier should the city manager and public safety manager decide it is safe to do so, as they’ll be assessing the situation on a daily basis, the release said.
Staff will be available to assist the public with city business by phone and email, as well as video call, the release said.
All public meetings will continue virtually as scheduled.
