Elderly man in wheelchair stabbed in neck inside Taco Bell in Mar Vista

MAR VISTA, LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Authorities are searching for the suspect in the stabbing of an elderly man in Mar Vista. Police said the culprit targeted an 82-year-old man in a wheelchair.

The incident occurred on Oct. 3 at around 7 p.m., when a man entered a restaurant in the 12000 block of Venice Boulevard and stabbed the victim in the back multiple times before fleeing on foot.

Firest responders rushed the victim a nearby hospital with stab wounds to the neck and shoulder. The man is believed to be in stable condition.

Police said the suspect "attacked the man without provocation," as proven by surveillance footage from the scene which shows the victim sitting with his back to the door when he was attacked.

Authorities described the suspect as a man between 20-30 years old, around 5'6" feet tall, and weighing around 130 pounds. He also has a small tattoo near his left eye and a large tattoo on the back of his head.
