
A 50-year-old man who was killed inside a Long Beach residence was identified Thursday.
Homicide detectives were sent to the 1700 block of Magnolia Avenue at around 9:05 p.m. Monday after a report that a man was unresponsive inside a residence, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The man, identified by the Los Angeles County Medical-Examiner's office as Marcus George, was discovered on the residence floor suffering from injuries to his upper body, police said.
A preliminary investigation revealed that George was assaulted inside the residence. Long Beach Fire Department paramedics arrived and determined he was dead, police said.
There was no description of a suspect, and the motive for the fatal assault remains unclear.
