People across the LA area are gathering Tuesday in remembrance of George Floyd, who died exactly one year ago today, after a Minneapolis police pinned him to the ground with his knee.

Across the country and here in Southern California, Americans are commemorating the one-year anniversary of George Floyd's death.

Black Lives Matter Los Angeles is hosting a rally starting around 9 a.m. at City Hall downtown, followed by a march to the Museum of Social Justice on Olvera Street.

There are also events later today in Hollywood, Long Beach, Sherman Oaks and more.

President Biden is meeting with Floyd's family today, to have a "real conversation and preserve that with the family," press secretary Jen Psaki told CNN."He has a genuine relationship with them, and the courage and grace of this family and especially his daughter Gianna Floyd, has really stuck with the President ..." Psaki said. "So, he's eager to listen to their perspectives and hear what they have to say."

The Senate is still working on a bipartisan police reform bill.
