ANAHEIM, Calif. (KNX) — Mickey’s Toontown is getting a makeover.
The beloved Disneyland park will be closing March 2022 for a redesign, Disney announced on Monday.
“Focusing on today’s families with young children, Mickey’s Toontown will feature new play experiences, as well as open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unplug,” according to a news release.
In addition to the “reimaging”, a new ride will be added to the park – Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. There will also be the addition of CenTOONial Park, an interactive play area, as well as a new fountain.
“We are so excited to leverage Disney’s powerful brand, develop new stories and share even more magical experiences with our guests,” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “The newly reimagined Mickey’s Toontown will be a welcoming place where families and younger guests can connect and play together in fun new ways.”
The park will reopen to the public early 2023.
