8 people hospitalized following bus collision in El Segundo

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (KNX) – A bus collision in El Segundo left eight people hospitalized, with three in critical condition, according to El Segundo emergency officials.

It happened near Imperial Highway and Douglas Street near the Los Angeles International Airport around 8:30 a.m.

El Segundo officials said eight people were taken to the hospital, with three people in critical condition. Seven of those people were onboard the bus.

The fire chief also said a preliminary investigation revealed a man was offloading a scissor lift from a flatbed big rig when he was clipped by a LADOT bus. He was one of three people in critical condition

As of 9 a.m., all eastbound traffic lanes of Imperial High and Douglas Street are closed, El Segundo Police Department said.
