At the stroke of midnight, new COVID-19 vaccine requirements took effect at indoor establishments across Los Angeles County.
The requirements apply to indoor areas of bars, lounges, nightclubs, breweries, wineries, and distilleries for all patrons 12 or older and all employees, according to a statement by the L.A. County Department of Public Health.
Prior to entering indoor areas of the affected establishments, patrons and employees must show proof of vaccination with photo ID. Proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine will be sufficient for entry through Nov. 4. After that, proof of full vaccination will be required.
Beginning Nov. 6, an L.A. city ordinance will require proof of vaccination to enter any indoor establishment, including gyms and restaurants.
