Off-duty Inglewood police officer wounded in shooting, suspect at large

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KNX) — An off-duty officer with the Inglewood Police Department was wounded in a shootingon Thursday. Authorities are still searching for the suspected shooter.

Paramedics responded to an undisclosed address on Lennox Boulevard shortly before 10:30 a.m. on Thursday on a call of a shooting involving an off-duty officer, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The officer was found to be a victim of the shooting, and was transported by ambulance to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. According to reports, the officer suffered one or more gunshot wounds to the leg.

Officers with various law enforcement agencies, including the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department and the Gardena and Hawthorne police departments, have descended on Inglewood. A manhunt for the suspect was under way in the 11000 block of Osage Avenue, a few blocks south of Lennox Boulevard.
