One bicyclist dead, second cyclist injured in Koreatown hit-and-run

LOS ANGELES (KNX) – One person was killed and another injured following a hit-and-run in Koreatown Tuesday, police said.

It happened around 3:20 a.m. on Olympic Boulevard. The Los Angeles Police Department said a white pickup truck was believed to have been fleeing from a car theft in process.

“The vehicle continued west on Olympic Boulevard east of Mariposa Avenue when it collided with two bicyclist that were travelling westbound,” police said. “The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid or remain after the collision, fleeing westbound Olympic Boulevard.”

One bicyclist had minor injuries while the other died at the scene.

The victim’s identity has not yet been revealed publicly.
