
OXNARD, Calif. (KNX) – Fire officials responded to a deadly plane crash in Oxnard Friday morning, according to multiple reports.
It happened around 8 a.m. next to the northbound lanes of the 101, according to the Ventura County Fire Department. The plane crashed into a strawberry field near the Camarillo Airport.

Oxnard Fire Department responded as well.
The plane crash did result in a fire, but the fire has since been extinguished.
At this time, firefighters reported one-person is dead. It’s still unclear how many people were on board the plane.
Ventura County officials said an initial report indicated that the plane hit a building on the south side of the freeway. Debris from the plane was found on the roof of a building in that area.
Fire officials are using search and rescue dogs to help find any additional victims.
The 101 is still open at this time.
