RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KNX) — On Monday 2,899 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Riverside County, the highest one-day total since February.
As of Sunday, there were 371 patients admitted to county hospitals with COVID-19, with 88 of those in intensive care units. No new deaths were reported.

According to county data, this week’s spike marked a 60% increase in cases reported over last, with 17% more confirmed patients hospitalized and 7% more confirmed patients in the ICU.
The county is also seeing a gradual decline in COVID-19 vaccines administered, down 15% from last week.
The trends track with rates reported across California in recent days, and across the country alongside the rapid spread of the Omicron variant. County officials expect to see even higher rates of contraction and hospitalization stemming from December 2021 holiday travel.
