Smash-and-grab robbers steal $900K in jewelry from Irvine store

Three suspects entered a jewelry store in Irvine Monday afternoon, smashed display cases, and made off with almost $900,000 worth of merchandise, according to the Irvine Police Department.

The robbery happened at 12:20 p.m. at a store near Jamboree Road and Michelson Drive.

Video shared by police shows three men in black clothing breaking glass cases with hammers and tossing jewelry into plastic containers.

The Orange County Register reports that a sales associate, the shop’s owner and business partner, and two customers were inside the store at the time. No one was injured.
