REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KNX) — A part-time Manhattan Beach Unified elementary school music teacher’s assistant was arrested Wednesday for allegedly possessing child pornography, according to the Redondo Police Department said.
A police task force charged with fighting internet crimes against children were tipped off about 30-year-old Kevin Bandel by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding possible online possession of child sex abuse material, Lt. Fabian Saucedo said.

Detectives served a search warrant Wednesday in the 1300 block of Curtis Avenue in Manhattan Beach, where “multiple items” of evidence were taken, Saucedo said.
As a result of the search, Bandel — who is currently employed by Manhattan Beach Unified as a part-time elementary school instructional assistant for instrumental music — was arrested and booked into the Redondo Beach City jail.
He is currently being held on $20,000 bail.
Detectives are seeking additional victims and encourage anyone with information to contact Det. Ryan Harrison at (310) 379-2477 Ext. 2480.
