THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (KNX) — An investigation is underway after a Ventura County sheriff’s deputy allegedly fired on a vehicle in Thousand Oaks in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident occurred shortly after 5:00 a.m. in the 3000 block of Rollings Avenue, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies originally responded to the location on a report of a catalytic converter theft in progress.
The shooting occurred after a subsequent pursuit of a dark gray, four-door Nissan Sentra, the sheriff’s department said. The driver of the Nissan allegedly drove in the direction of deputy, which prompted him to shoot at the car.
The deputy escaped without injury and the driver sped off and is still wanted by authorities. It was not known as of Saturday afternoon whether the suspect was injured by the gunfire.
Anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or shooter is urged to contact Ventura County deputies at (805) 765-0426.
