RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, Calif. — A group of at least seven people rushed a jewelry stall Thursday at the Del Amo Plaza in Rancho Dominguez, stealing jewelry and cash before fleeing.
Two suspects have been arrested and at least five others are wanted in the smash-and-grab at the local swap meet, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The robbery—just the latest in a string of smash-and-grabs to plague the L.A.-area—occurred around 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
A video of the incident shared to social media appears to show at least four suspects taking items from the jewelry stall, which was fended off by one security guard and a handful of employees. Alarms sounded off as shattered glass coated the floor around the jewelry counter.
An LASD spokesman would not provide details on any injuries.
The department did not provide descriptions for the outstanding suspects and declined to say how the suspects were apprehended.
The value of the items taken was not immediately available.
