
LOS ANGELES (KNX) — Southern California commuters are finding more relief at the gas pump these days. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County fell again on Wednesday for the 16th consecutive day, dipping 1.7 cents to $5.832.
The average price of gas has dropped 23.8 cents over the last 16 days, according to data from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That followed price hikes to a record $6.07 and 32 days of straight increases that ended March 27.

The average price is 10.8 cents more than a week ago, but still eight-tenths of a cent more than a month ago and $1.851 higher than this time last year.
In Orange County, the average price dropped for the 15h consecutive day, dropping 1.4 cents to $5.789. The price has dropped 24 cents over the last 15 days following 37 days of straight increases toa record $6.029 on March 29.
The O.C. average gas price is still $1.838 higher than this time last year, according to AAA and the OPIS.
