LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A man was in custody Thursday in connection with dozens of commercial thefts committed across the San Fernando Valley, L.A. police said.
Reuben Newhouse, 62, was arrested on March 1 and was held on $505,000 bail, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.

From Oct. 2020 to Feb. 2022, LAPD alleged Newhouse committed over 70 commercial burglaries in the Valley, with 26 in North Hollywood alone. Most of the thefts were committed in the early hours of the morning. The suspect’s image was captured on a number of security surveillance videos, the LAPD said.
"Crime alerts and community alerts were disseminated across the Valley with no leads until a concern[ed] citizen, discovered evidence on the side of the road," police said. "The evidence led North Hollywood burglary detectives to Newhouse's residence."
