INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KNX) — An arrest has been made in connection with an attack on a San Francisco 49ers fan during last weekend's NFC Championship Game at Inglewood's SoFi Stadium, according to police.

The incident, which occurred in the stadium's parking lot, left 40-year-old Daniel Luna, a restaurant owner from Oakland, in a medically induced coma at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.

Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts said in a news conference on Friday that the suspect had been identified as 33-year-old Bryan Alexis Cifuentes Rossell of Montebello. He was arrested on felony assault charges, and was bailed out at 1 a.m. on Friday on $30,000. Butts said it would be up to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office whether charges are ultimately filed.

Butts said in a statement on Thursday that surveillance video reviewed by investigators from the vicinity of the attack indicated that Luna may have instigated the conflict.

According to Inglewood police, the suspect was taken into custody in Montebello. The exact timing nor the identity of the arrestee was not immediately known — but police said the suspect came forward Thursday night.

This is a developing story.
