
LOS ANGELES (KNX) – The man suspected to have run over a woman in downtown Los Angeles in February 2021 was arrested on Monday.
Police said Tajon Wright Freeman was found and arrested in Phoenix in December, police said. Freeman had warrants in the area.
Police said Freeman, who has been in Phoenix since July, will be extradited back to Los Angeles and faces multiple charges, including felony-hit-and-run and grand theft auto, according to KTLA.
The hit-and-run occurred on Feb. 20, 2021 in the area of Seventh and Figueroa streets. A woman was crossing the street when a stolen 2001 Toyota Tundra hit her. The driver, Freeman, kept driving before ditching the truck.
The woman was hospitalized for a broken arm and face injuries.
