The vehicle was proceeding down Michillinda Avenue just prior to 8:30 p.m. Sunday night when Bae apparently lost control. The car collided with a raised concrete curb, according to CHP, before continuing westbound, hitting a chain link fence, and riding up onto a dirt embankment. The vehicle finally overturned just south of Foothill Boulevard.

First responders pronounced Bae and Gullekson dead at the scene. Torres was transported to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Family and friends of the three gathered at the crash scene on Monday night to hold a vigil. Bae’s friends described him as “good guy” and “really great kid,” according to KTLA.

“I’m going to miss him so much,” Daisy Maciel, mother of Torres, told the outlet. “My heart is broken.

An investigation is still ongoing. “It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a contributing factor,” CHP officials said.
