LOS ANGELES (KNX) – The University of Southern California sued two YouTubers for filming ‘disruptive’ prank videos on the college campus.

On Friday, a Los Angeles County Superior court judge established a restraining order against Ernest Kanevsky and Yuguo Bai, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Kanevsky and Bai – who are not students at the university- filmed three videos that involved them disrupting classes and causing “terror and disruption” at the school’s Mark Taper Hall of Humanities, the New York Times reported, citing court documents.

The latest incident occurred in March when the two interrupted a lecture on the Holocaust by pretending to be a Russian Mafia member and Hugo Boss, court documents said. The documents allege the prank was in reference to Boss, a fashion designer whose company created the Nazi uniform.

Kanevsky reportedly chased Bai, who was dressed as Boss.

Avery Kotler, who was in the class at the time the men entered, told USC Annenberg Media the disturbance caused students to run out of the classroom.

“I was near the door and I started running out,” they recalled to the outlet.
“Everyone just left in a really big panic.”

Kanevsky told the New York Times that the prank was “part of a dare that was supposed to be a harmless, funny scene” and that “Hugo Boss is literally the name Yuguo goes by.”

It’s unclear if the two men have legal representation at this time.

A hearing for a preliminary injunction is scheduled for April 28.
