Evacuation orders remain in effect Wednesday for the 17 homes impacted by the landslide in Rolling Hills Estates that has caused at least 10 of those structures to collapse.

Following Tuesday night's declaration of local emergency by the Rolling Hills Estates City Council, On Wednesday, a $125,000 fund was jointly created by county Supervisor Janice Hahn's office and the city of Rolling Hills Estates to assist affected residents with temporary housing, food, and other essentials.

Supervisor Hahn told KNX News, "Now that more people have been told to leave those homes, we need to be serious about where these people are going to sleep at night and where they will live during the day. So I thought that the best way would be to use some funds that I have available."

Hahn said the city will be in charge of coordinating efforts to ensure residents receive the help offered.

The cause of the massive landslide is still unknown. KNX reporter Nataly Tavidian spoke with residents who say they are devastated, frustrated, and hoping to get answers from the HOA.
