LOS ANGELES (KNX) - An investigation is underway in a Los Angeles hit-and-run that left a man with severe injuries, police said.
On Sunday around 12:35 a.m., a 20-year-old riding a moped was stopped at a light on 3rd Street at Flower Street.

Video from the Los Angeles Police Department showed a blue Mini Cooper speeding up to the man before rear-ending him, causing him to fall. The car then took off once the light turned green. The man was taken to the hospital with severe injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.
Another video, taken by a witness, showed a Toyota Prius following the Mini Cooper as it traveled northbound on Beaudry Street. The Prius was flashing its lights at the Mini Cooper.
“The driver is described as a possible male Indian or Hispanic, in his 40’s, with black hair,” the department said in a press release. “The Mini Cooper has a panoramic sunroof and likely has front end damage.”
Police are also looking for the driver of the Prius, as they believe the driver may have more information.
Anyone with information regarding the vehicle and the driver is urged contact Officer Alexis Guizar, Central Traffic Detectives at (213) 833-3713, or email him at 39761@lapd.online.
