
COMMERCE, Calif. (KNX) — A woman was fatally shot while inside an SUV stopped for a red light at an intersection Saturday morning in Commerce, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, an unnamed woman in her 30s, was behind the wheel of her SUV at the intersection of Telegraph Road and Garfield Avenue when a male suspect fired several rounds into the vehicle. She was able to drive the car a short distance to a nearby convenience store before authorities were alerted.

Sheriff’s deputies responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. to find the woman inside the store suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics, where she later died.
A description of the shooter was not immediately available.
