VAN NUYS (CNS) - One woman was killed and at least seven others injured when an alleged street racing suspect—on the run from police, ran their car into a Halloween pop up event in Van Nuys, authorities said.
The crash happened just after 8 p.m. on Sunday, in the 7600 block of Woodley Ave., near Saticoy Street, Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart said.

A woman believed to have been in her 20s died at the scene. LAPD has only said she was a resident of Woodland Hills. Her name has not yet been released. At least five other people were treated by LAFD paramedics for non life-threatening injuries.
The driver, identified by LAPD as 18-year-old Luis Carrillo-Castaneda, suffered minor injuries in the collision. Police said he was taking part in a nearby street takeover, before he crashed the Chevy Tahoe into the Halloween event.
The SUV was traveling so fast that it left 200 feet of skid marks on the street and continued 75 feet to the back of the building before it stopped police at the scene told ABC7.
Carrillo-Castaneda, a resident of Los Angeles, was arrested for murder, according to a statement from the police department.
