SANTA ANA, Calif. (KNX) — A 27-year-old woman pleaded guilty in Orange County court Friday to drunken driving and a hit-and-run crash in Anaheim that left three men dead.
Cynthia Lizbeth Ayala of Pomona was immediately sentenced to 14 years and eight months in prison for the crash that killed 36-year-old Richard Zuniga of Anaheim, 32-year-old Jacon Rolon of La Mirada, and 63-year-old Alexander Smiller of L.A. in May of last year.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Brookhurst Street and Orange Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. on May 4. Police responding to the scene found a white Mercedes-Benz sedan abandoned and a black Kia with three victims inside, all of whom died at the scene.
Witnesses saw two women in their 20s get out of the Mercedes and into another vehicle, Anaheim police said at the time. The women later went to a local hospital where one was treated for minor injuries and the other for more serious wounds requiring surgery.
One of those women was Ayala, who was behind the wheel of the car with a blood-alcohol level of .218%. The legal limit to drive in California is .08%.
Ayala also admitted to sentencing enhancements for fleeing the scene of vehicular manslaughter.
